I'm a member of Hooked on Exchanges blog group. I've done 7 or 8 exchanges and love doing them. I've done 3 RR, 2 were with friends in the same city and we'd get together every month and exchange pieces. The other was with 9 people total. I enjoyed the stitching but not the difficulty in exchanging and people dropping out. I think I would enjoy doing a round robin with good friends so that the end result would have all of our stitching and be a lovely reminder of the friends but I don't see the appeal of doing it with people I don't know well. I know many people do enjoy exchanges and round robins though - we're all different!

I have to be in the mood to stitch whatever I am stitching! Otherwise, it could become a very long UFO. But, I do admire others who participate in those things. I enjoy seeing other's work, too! I think it would be fun but I cross stitch the opposite way of most people so I don't think I could join one. Too bad because it would be a lot of fun!!! Michele

I used to belong to a stitchery guild and regret I didn't join a RR they had. I was new to the guild and didn't quite understand RRs or how they'd work. The focus was samplers. Some had themes like flowers, sea-related. Most people people specified the colours (may have even supplied the threads?). I was surprised how beautifully they all turned out, and so different from each other. You could see the effort all the stitchers put in to select just the right addition to the sampler.
